I finally had a chance to use all of my newly acquired and old skills in Intro to Fashion class. I had to create a conceptual 3D garment based off of my research, and 40% of it had to be made out of eyewear or lenses.
I came up with a concept of journey of the man through the sea. It was inspired by the novels of Ernest Hemmingway and J.London. The jacket is made out of duck canvas which was used to make sails back in the day and the pants are made out of raw silk to remind of the ocean. I also wanted to put the emphasis on the journey and how it makes a sailor out a regular man. Sailors are known to work a lot with their hands, backs, torso, elbows , shoulders, and knees. To emphasize that I embellished those areas with the lenses. I alcohol ink washed each lens and sewed them on one by one. All in all I am pretty satisfied with the project, my classmates seemed to like it a lot. Of course as an artist I would still work on it more to perfect it.
Wonderful photography is by Christina Erb, who is a photography major and a good friend of mine here at SCAD. Model is Parker Barr also a very good friend of mine. I am very grateful for their help on this project!

I started this blog my senior year of high school to show my process work. After I graduated from high school, I decided to keep up with the blog and show the progress I made as an artist while studying in college. This blog includes a few projects from high school and several from my experience at SCAD.

So I have been slacking off
I started my sophomore year at SCAD this September.
Currently I'm taking two studios : Intro to Fashion and Intro to Textiles, and one lecture : Math 100.
The workload is as heavy as ever but I'm loving the subjects.
My midterm grades were actually not that bad two A's and a B. I just need to get a hold on Math!
Since I've been slacking off on posting my work I'm going to post a few pictures/projects I did last quarter now.
Life Drawing I : Torso Studies
Drawing 2: Still Life and Surrealism
Life Drawing I: Bust
Drawing II: Perspective (Final)
This one my professor actually liked a lot and asked me to give it to him for a quarter to show as an example.
This is some of the work I've done. I will try to post all the other ones as soon as I get a better quality pictures taken of them.

Prismacolor Pencil Drawing
This is the outline of the still life I'm working on in class at the moment.
And this is the progress.
I have a feeling it will turn out very cool.

Second Quarter at SCAD
Work Work Work and more work.
I love it though!
I finished first quarter with all A's and made it on Dean's List.
I hope to keep this up for the rest of the year.
Right now I'm taking FASH 100, Drawing 2 and Speech.
FASH class takes up most of my time but it's my favorite, so I don't mind :)
I finished my first project for Drawing 2!

I finished my first project for Drawing 2!
It took a long time to finish, and I wish I could have had more time to work on the back ground. Oh well.

SCAD
This is my third week at SCAD.
I love it here.! Savannah is beautiful and I love the new friends I made.
Classes are super busy, but I get to go back to studio anytime I want so I manage to finish everything on time.
My design class is super hard, I never thought that there is so much math in art.
So many new things to learn!
Here's a sample of what I have to do in my design class. Looks simple, but it took me two hours to align all the pictures with certain diagonals and horizontals... oh geometry.

Ap Art Show
Final Show of the YEAR! Is going to be this Friday!
I'm pretty excited and sad at the same time.
Even though this was a tough year for me in art, I really enjoyed being challenged and coming up with new and creative ideas!
I hope my show will be successful! Hopefully I also will be able to sell some pieces this Friday.
